For so many Americans, a safe home is not their reality with homelessness and housing insecurity increasing at an alarming rate. Factors such as race, generational poverty, and illness add to the likelihood that an individual or family will experience extreme homelessness at some point in their lifetime.
According to a March 2020 study by UCLA, University of Pennsylvania, and Boston University, the U.S. needs 395,000 emergency housing beds today. But traditional development methods take too long and are too expensive.
